The year may have just started, but financially it feels like we’re carrying the weight of bills 14 months old on our shoulders. Technically we are. With the economic impact COVID-19 has had on people in the U.S, it’s no shock that people aren’t where they usually are (or want to be) financially. This doesn’t have to impact your lover’s day too much. I have constructed a list of unique and fun ideas for Valentine’s Day. Coronavirus may have stolen 2020, but in 2021 we are fighting back okay!

For the romantic: An hour at the Ice Skating Rink- $30

If you've seen any rom-com ever, you absolutely know how cute this is. Rinks are usually placed in run areas that also double for great photo-ops.

Goes great with: hot cocoa and super thick socks.

For the lover of the outdoors: A winter hike- $0

Winter is beautiful in its own way. Bundle up and hit the trails, you’ll be surprised how fresh snow changes the landscape into a fantasy world.

Goes great with: tumblers of soup/ coffee.

For the spontaneous: A flash tattoo appointment- $150

Flash tattoos don’t require much thought, and a tattoo parlor will give you a book of small designs to choose from. The shop will ink you both with your chosen designs within a half hour. Easy, but crazy bold too.

Goes great with: vlogging the experience for memories.

For the blogger: A pop-up museum- $90

These trendy museums are always fun and photogenic. Whether it’s the Candytopia in Atlanta, the U.S. Pizza Museum in Chicago, or the Rosé Mansion in New York, your beaux will get a great photo for the ‘gram.

Goes great with: polaroid camera.

For the lover who needs to take it easy: Cater to them- $60

You’re at their service. Don’t have your partner do anything! You make dinner ($60 for groceries & wine), set the table, make the drinks, do the dishes, massage feet, rinse, repeat.

Goes great with: a call bell for a sexy twist.

For the person who works too much: A night in the woods- $100

It’s the chance to unplug, unwind, and destress while surrounded by trees. It’s one step up from a stay-cation. Airbnb’s usually run between $80–100 per night.

Goes great with: a crackling fire, a bottle of wine, and a nice playlist.
